We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service, so that we know how many people use the site. Each page loads a small script from GoatCounter that reports the page viewed, the site you came from, and your browser, operating system, screen size, language and approximate country. According to GoatCounter’s privacy policy, it sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, does not store your IP address or full browser identifier, and keeps statistics only as separate aggregate totals; to avoid counting the same visitor twice it briefly holds a hash of your IP address and browser details in memory for up to eight hours. We run no advertising or other tracking scripts. If you block the script, the site works exactly the same.
